1. Technology project contract: 5% (learning outcomes 3), Due on April 13,2011

Collaboratively (groups up to 3 students) students identify a project area, which is negotiated with the technical advisor(s). Students have to fulfill a contract that promotes a solution to a technological problem.

2. Project management: 25% (learning outcomes 2, 6, 8)

Student uses Blogger (electronic ways) to reflect his (her) learning, reading, thinking, and findings weekly. Students demonstrate effective problem management, communication, safety management, and project management

3. Written report: 60% (learning outcomes 1, 4, 5, 6, 7,8)

Students synthesize and apply automotive technical knowledge to produce a solution
Design and produce a product/process/system that offers a practical solution to the problem, including all details necessary to bring the design to fruition. Students reflect on practice, and identify project succession.

4. PowerPoint presentation: 10% (learning outcomes 9)

Students verbally defend a documented solution before peers
